By entering Make Your Mark in Melbourne in collaboration with UEM Sunrise street art competition, you agree to the following conditions:
  1. The Organiser of this competition is Visit Victoria.
  2. The Co-organiser and Venue partner is UEM Sunrise.
  3. All information on 'how to participate' forms part of these terms and conditions. By entering into this competition, you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions.
  4. The Organiser may in its discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
  1. Entry to the competition is only open to Malaysian artists.
  2. An entrant must be an individual and not a company or organisation.
  3. Entrant must be aged 21 years and above to enter this competition.

    1. Submit a digital artwork that you would like to re-create at the final LIVE art session. (Please see point no. 12 & 13 “Live Art Creation”). Artwork is not limited to a particular street art style – it can include oil-paint, spray paint, charcoal, crayons, marker or watercolour.
    2. Artwork will be based on six (6) Melbourne-related themes:
      • Sports – Melbourne is the capital of the sports mad state of Victoria and is host to some of the best sporting spectacles in the world:
        Australian Open - The Grand Slam of Asia-Pacific; Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix; Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach; Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race and the Spring Racing Carnival featuring the Melbourne Cup.
      • Major Events and Festivals – It’s not just major sporting events - from colourful flower shows to a world class fashion festival, there’s always something exciting happening in Melbourne and Victoria:
        Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival; Melbourne Food and Wine Festival; Great Ocean Road Running Festival; Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show; Melbourne Spring Fashion Week; the Melbourne Cup; Australian Open and Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix.
      • Creative Industries and The Arts – The ever expanding arts and culture scene - from art galleries and street art to museums, Melbourne is a city in love with the arts:
        Hidden Laneways and Arcades; Street Art, Victorian Architecture; the Arts Centre; Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI); National Gallery of Victoria; Colourful precincts such as St Kilda and Fitzroy.
      • Epicurean Experiences – Eat and drink your way through Melbourne and Victoria, from the renowned wineries to scenic riverside eateries:
        Melbourne Food and Wine Festival; Caffeinate in Style; Coffee culture in Melbourne; High Country Harvest; Grampians Grape Grazing; Yarra Valley Gourmet Trails (vineyards) and Paddock to Plate experiences in Mornington Peninsula.
      • Natural Experiences – Melbourne and Victoria is well known for the diverse natural landscapes and wildlife:
        The Twelve Apostles; the Great Ocean Walk; the Great Ocean Road; Grampians National Park; Wilson Promontory; Victoria’s Snowfields and the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island.
      • Design, Fashion and Shopping – Let your tour of the city take in department stores and shopping centres, arcades and laneways and the flagship stores of edgy Victorian designers:
        Colourful precincts like Gertrude St in Fitzroy, Chapel St in South Yarra, Little Collins St in the Central Business District; Markets like Queen Victoria Market, Rose St Artist Market, St Kilda Esplanade Market and South Melbourne Market and Spring Racing Fashions on the Field (fashion and millinery)
    3. All artwork submissions should be JPEG format in 300dpi resolution.
    4. Artwork submission deadline would be 8 April 2018, Sunday by 11:59pm. Any entry received after the expiry date of the submission period will be deemed invalid.
    5. Submit your entry with no more than 50 words description of your artwork, your name, email address, contact number and profile/CV via www.makeyourmarkinmelbourne.com
  1. All entries become the property of the Organiser and will not be returned to the entrants.
  2. To be eligible for a prize, your entry must only include material created by you and not a copy of anyone else's copyrighted material. (If your image infringes upon another's copyright, it will be disqualified.) Upon submitting your artwork to this competition, you are solely responsible for any infringement on copyrighted materials.
  1. Top 10 finalists will be notified via phone or email within the period of 16 April 2018 – 18 April 2018. The artist will have to respond on accepting to take on the final LIVE art session on the day of notification or no later than 18 April 2018.
  1. Finalists are required to attend briefing on 27 April 2018, Friday morning.
  2. The live artwork starts from 27 April to 29 April 2018 at Publika Shopping Gallery, The Square.
  1. Finalists are required to attend the prize giving ceremony on 4 May 2018 (Friday) at Publika Shopping Gallery.
  1. The grand prize winner will receive:
    1. Trip to Melbourne – one (1) all-expense paid 8 Days, 7 Nights trip to Melbourne (valid travel insurance is required for the duration of the trip at winner’s expense) – with your very own wall at the Wall To Wall Benalla 2019, the only street art festival of its kind in Australia. Inclusive of return flight tickets, accommodation, street art tour and exclusive visit to Juddy Roller Studio.
    2. RM 15,000 cash
  2. The grand prize winner must comply with any third party terms and conditions relevant to the prize e.g. in relation to any airfares, accommodation, and/or tickets as applicable.
  3. Other prizes:
    1. 2nd place – RM 7,000 cash, travel vouchers and merchandise
    2. 3rd place – RM 5,000 cash, travel vouchers and merchandise
    3. Consolation – RM 3,000 cash each and merchandise
  4. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any additional costs associated with use of the prize. The winner is responsible for all costs associated with using the prize including (if applicable) travel and/or transfer costs, expenses with respect to food and beverages, travel and medical insurance costs.
  5. No component of the prize can be transferred or redeemed for cash.
  1. You warrant that:
    1. All details provided with your entry are true and accurate.
    2. You have all the necessary rights to grant the Organiser the rights granted under these Terms and Conditions.
    3. Use of your entry by the Organiser, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, will not infringe the rights of any thirds parties.
  2. You acknowledge that the Organiser is under no obligation to use your entry, and any reproduction and/or communication of your entry to the public by the Organiser (in accordance with these Terms and Conditions) is at the complete discretion of the Organiser.
  3. Finalists grant the Organiser and Co-organiser a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce images of the artwork on any platform and in the marketing of the competition to the general public.
  4. You agree that the Organiser and Co-organiser may use your personal details provided to the promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition. The organiser may disclose your personal information third-party organisation, to assist in conducting this competition. Prize winners’ names may be published as set out in these Terms and Conditions. The organiser may also use your personal information for any promotional, marketing and publicity purposes of the organiser, subject to The Art of Living Privacy Policy available at https://www.artofliving.org/my-en/privacy-policy-0
  5. To the full extent permitted by the law, the Organiser/Promoter will not be liable for any death, injury, damages, expenses or loss whatsoever (whether direct or consequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering into the competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit and the prize winner’s failure to comply with the terms and conditions (if any) specified by any third party.
